ASICs for medical ultrasound and data converters

Chen Chao was born on 11 December, 1987 in Longhai, Fujian province of China. He received B.Sc degree in 2010 from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China and M.Sc degree in 2012 from Delft Universitiy of Technology, both in microelectronics. For his M.Sc thesis, he worked on energy-efficient self-timed incremental ΔΣ ADCs.

Since December 2012, he has been a Ph.D candidate in the Electronic Instrumentation Laboratory at TU Delft, where he works on ASIC design for medical ultrasound. He was awarded the Toptalent scholarship by TU Delft and the HSP scholarship by the Dutch government for his M.Sc study, and the 2013 Student Travel Grant Award (STGA) by the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society.
