Jesse Robert

Jesse was born in Vlaardingen, The Netherlands in 1997. In 2015, he began his higher education in Medicine at the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam. After obtaining his BSc in Medicine in 2019, he continued with the MSc program for Medicine and worked as a medical intern in different hospitals at different departments for two years. In 2022, he had a change of heart and wanted to pursue the field of engineering due to his stronger interest in STEM fields. After completing a two-year pre-master at TU Delft, he enrolled in the MSc Biomedical Engineering program at the Mechanical Engineering department in 2024 and took additional courses related to Microelectronics. Starting September 2025, he joined the ECTM and EI groups and will be working on his Extra Project before starting his MSc thesis project. For his project, he will be working on the fabrication of biodegradable quantum dot LEDs for oxygen sensing in cardiac tissue. Dr. Clementine Boutry, dr. Filipe Arroyo Cardoso and Zhengwei Liao, MSc will be his advisors.

His personal interests include MEMS, microfabrication, circuits, engineering, astronomy, history, computers and science/technology in general. And his hobbies are watching movies, series and animation, playing video games, visiting museums, exploring new places, and learning new skills and knowledge through hands-on DIY projects (like building PCs, prop replicas, 3D printers, CAD models, electronic kits and more).
