[2026] Magneto-tactic bacteria

These magneto-tactic bacteria (MTB) use these chains to orient themselves along the earth magnetic field, which does not only point north-south, but also top down. As a result, the MTB can find the bottom of the pond more quickly. We have learned how to cultivate MTB, and can now use them in the lab.  Zoe Breed of IO and Leon Abelmann are now investigating whether we can somehow connect them to our electronic world. In this project you will learn how to grow MTB, observed them and find ways to interact.
