MSc thesis project proposal
[2026] Projects with Prof. Makinwa
Master thesis projects on the following topics are available:
- Precision (sub-1ppm/C) Voltage References (ADI)
- Low-offset, Wide Bandwidth 3-D Magnetic Field Sensors (ADI)
- High-Resolution Wide-Bandwidth Sigma-Delta ADCs (NXP)
- Precision (sub-100ppm) RC/LC Frequency References (Infineon)
- Interface circuits for Solid-State Flow Sensors (University of Twente)
- Quiet (Ripple-free) Chopper amplifiers (TUD)
- High-performance Temperature Sensors (TUD)
Assignment
In 12 months, you will learn how to
- Design CMOS analog and mixed-signal systems
- Perform circuit simulations with Spectre
- Layout your design and then re-simulate the extracted layout
- Tape-out your design and measure the resulting chip
- How to present your work effectively (and maybe publish a paper)
In most cases, a stipend will be provided.
All projects are 60ECTS (extra project + thesis project).
Unless specifically indicated, all projects can be done in Delft.
For further information, please contact Prof. Makinwa
Requirements
Good grades in the following courses are a must,
- Measurement & Instrumentation
- Analog Fundamentals
- Analog CMOS Design I & II
- Nyquist-Rate Data Converters
